Cliff Face (white)

This print is done by first painting on fine handmade Japanese washi using a natural handmade ink from apple and pear tree bark and and iron mordant dye. Then a lino cut print is made on top of the wash.
 
This print reminds me of being in Australia next to the ocean on a deserted beach, and gazing up at the awe inspiring rocks exposed over centuries to the elements, worn down, cracked, crumbling and with so many intricate details. 
 
It reminds me of the importance of connecting again to nature, to feeling grounded and with a certain freedom.
 
It's a rather pared down, abstracted view, more about enjoying patterns and line than any true representation.
