Lisa uses natural self made dyes using plants, the Japanese techniques of folded and stitched shibori and the technique of batik wax resist. Lisa incorporates ideas about medicinal plants and the greek medicinal system of the four humours into her visual narrative. Patina, ageing, weathering and the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi are very important themes central to her work.
