Cliff Face (rose)

This print is done by first painting on fine handmade Japanese washi using a natural handmade madder root dye. Then a lino cut print is made on top of the wash.
 
This is an abstract mono print based on ideas surrounding the forever changing and sometimes mythical presence Nature can have in our lives. It is something that brings calm but is also inherently unknowable. It is about the beauty of wear and tear, of ageing, of the patina brought about by time and weathering both on man made objects and natural element found in rocks, trees, and plants.
